A new toy

I was finally due for my phone upgrade through my phone carrier and while I truly loved my blackberry because it allowed me to communicate consistently with my husband while he was deployed, it was having some issues. It kept freezing up and I'd have to reset it multiple times every day.  It had a random Sim Card Error that kept popping up.
I started paying attention to the new phones over the past couple months in anticipation of my upgrade. I tried to fight the iPhone hype.

I lost.

I did go back and forth between iPhone and droid x. But iPhone ultimately won the showdown.

And I love my new toy.

Yes, I change my hair a lot.  The one directly above was taken on Monday, then the top one was this morning.  I like to change it up. (The color hasn't changed, it just looks dark because of the filter on the bottom one.)

I also have Incredibooth that I haven't played with yet.  For my girls, I've only gotten a couple barbie ones and am up for suggestions.
Completely addicted to Words with Friends.

Motivation Monday: A little me time

To say that life has been crazy over the last few months would be a major understatement.  Only now are things finally starting to settle down.  While I like to be busy instead of sitting around, I prefer to have a choice in the matter.  With the way things have been, I have had very little time for friends and hanging out, very little time to be creative outside of my photography.  I've just felt stretched too thin and everything was sort of being done halfway of what I'd normally do. 

It all sort of hit me like a mack truck today.   I have a lot of responsibilities and I've sort of dropped the ball on several of them. Or halfway dropped.  And others, like making time to actually do things that I enjoy, have completely fallen by the wayside for the sake of sleep. 

Last week was a turning point with all of this because I decided to get back on track with my diet and exercise.  The result?  I dropped 4 lbs in a week.  Still going strong, by the way for those who are curious :-).

So now I want to start adding in other things that are for me and my well being.  Because when I am happy, I am a better mom, better wife, and better friend.   Tonight after my workout, I'm going to put on a chick flick in my studio and make a big crafty mess of some sort.  Not sure yet what I'll be getting into.

Motivation Monday: Get Back on Track

Ok, so swimsuit season is fast approaching.  Even faster for me because we live on the coast and it's already consistently in the 80-degree range..beach weather.  Already.

My body is no where near ready for beach weather.  The jiggly bits need some work.  Okay...a  lot of work.

The move, and lots of stress in recent months has definitely taken it's toll.  And it's time to get back on the fitness bandwagon.  I did great last year, but unfortunately most of my hardwork was undone.  Not all of it...but a good chunk of it.

So today is the day. I am starting over.  (Except for the fact that I have some leftovers from Olive Garden that I'm eating for lunch ) I am going to get my fruit and veggie servings and my daily water intake up to where it needs to be.  And I'm going to try to exercise every day for at least 30 minutes.  I really want to do at least an hour, but I'm giving myself a little break.   So for this week- no Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper (seriously, bliss in a can) until I've reached my water quota.  And no treats til I've had my fruit and veggies... and my motivation?  Well, I have this HUGE box of super cute clothes...and they don't quite fit.  Yet.

So today is the day.  Wish me luck!
