Hey there!
Happy Tuesday to you!  I hope you are having a wonderful week.  I'm just doing a quick pop-in to share a card I created recently.

These colors make me oh so happy!  I actually was inspired by a photo that I found on pinterest and went with that for my color scheme.  I am a major pinterest addict.  I just might need  a support group.  Seriously.  The mister would most certainly agree.

Anyway, back to the card.  Last month, I purchased the Rosie Posie stamp set from Papertrey ink.  I just knew I had to have it the moment I saw the first sneak peek.  I have always adored Amy Butler fabrics, and this stamp set was designed with that style in mind.  It was the first thing in my cart on release day and I am happy to say that I've used it at least a dozen times since I got it.  Definitely one of my favorites!  As is the Background Basics Chevron- also used on this card.  Big happy sigh from me with this one.  Here's a closer view of the flowers:

I raided my stash of old Stampin' up cardstock for this one because the Papertrey Plum Pudding just didn't match what I had in mind.  I ended up choosing Lovely Lilac for the card base.  I topped that with some white cardstock stamped using the PTI Chevron background set and stamped that in Lovely Lilac, Orchid Opulence, Soft Sky,  and Old Olive from Stampin' Up, and Spring moss from PTI in a pattern.  Next, I cut a piece of Dotti Biscotti patterned paper to make the sentiment stand out a bit more.  I die cut the flowers from Rosie Posie and then stamped them and used dimensionals to adhere them to the Mat Stack 4 die cut. I used the Signature Series Cupcake stamp set for the sweet sentiment and that was it.  Quick and easy, just the way I like them to be!

Around here...

Around here...

We've been

- Spending Christmas money-- Little Miss chose some of the new Lego Friends- the Dog Show one.  They are super cute! C picked a monster high doll and some wigs for her LIV dolls.  She was able to get a monster high doll that we hadn't seen in stores before now, so she was pretty excited about that.  H had the Legos, switched to the Monster High doll, and then back to legos, so C snatched up that monster high doll pretty quickly.
- Drinking hot cocoa and hot apple cider, even though the temps have been in the 60s and 70s.
- Trying new things - Crochet and cookie decorating
- Snuggling and giggling
- Getting hair cuts (well...just me)
- The Mr. has been studying for some upcoming work things
- Cleaning up after a growing puppy

Lots of preparation going on for H's birthday party that is coming up in March.  Trying to get a head start on all of the decorations since I have such limited time to work on those with working full time and the Mister traveling for work.  I'm also working on some other home decor projects that I hope to share here soon.

I can't  believe that it's already almost the end of January.  Time goes so fast these days!

One Little Word for 2012

In my previous post, I mentioned choosing a word for 2012.  Something to focus on to help accomplish goals.  One little word to sum up my hopes for this year.  After much deliberation, I have made a decision on what my word will be.  My goal list looked something like this...

  • get fit- stay motivated, don't give up, eat less- move more
  • eat out less- home cooked meals at least 5 nights, even if it's easy/quick
  • submit more of my work for publication
  • organize, organize, organize
  • more fun!- movies, bowling, ice skating, trips out for ice cream, see the sights in and around Charleston
  • increase photography clients- get website up and running
  • date nights- at least 2 per month
  • celebrate the every day
  • friendships
My one little word for 2012 is:

The definition is listed as:

  1. Make great efforts to achieve or obtain something.
  2. Struggle or fight vigorously

I am excited to see how this word impacts my life over the coming months.  I'm hoping it will be a tool to help motivate, inspire, and remind me of all the things I hope to accomplish this year.  Only time will tell...
