Happy December!!

Hello December.
Hello see-your-breath-cold mornings.  Hello hot chocolate.  Hello happy Christmas lights.  Hello twinkly Christmas tree.  Welcome back Sprinkles the Elf. Hello extra time with family.

This year the Christmas spirit has really hit me hard.  I'm not sure what it is this year, but I am so excited for the holidays.  Usually I procrastinate with the decorating and everything but I'm on the ball this year. I've already been digging things out and getting ready for our big house decorating weekend (THIS weekend!).

In addition to decking out the outside of our home, I've been doing some crafting to deck the halls inside too.  Starting with this advent calendar that I made yesterday after the kids went to school.  I know I was a couple days behind, but I still wanted to do this with the kids so we just opened two boxes yesterday.

I used this cut file from the Silhouette online store designed by Lori Whitlock.

When the little boxes are first cut out, they look like this.  They were very easy to assemble and went together quickly.  The polka dot tab is also included in the cut files to decorate the boxes.  It also includes files for the outer box that holds the small boxes.

Here are my boxes all assembled with the little polka dot panel attached.

Here she is all decorated.  I used glitter paper from American crafts to cut the numbers (included in the cut file) and accents on my box.  The top section with our name on it was not included in the cut files, I created that myself to personalize it.

Here it is with one of the boxes popped out so you can get a better look.

This was such a fun project and my kids are REALLY enjoying it so far.  I put a couple little treats in each box along with a holiday/winter themed activity.  The ones that fall on the weekends have the bigger activities like bake holiday cookies, go ice skating, etc.  The ones on the school days are along the lines of reading a holiday story, watch a Christmas movie, have hot chocolate, etc.

Are you getting in the Christmas/Holiday spirit in your home?  If you decide to make one of these boxes, please link below- I'd love to see it! I highly recommend this file if you have a Silhouette and Lori Whitlock has a video tutorial on her you tube channel if you're worried about how to assemble it.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your day!!
