About Me

Hello there! Thanks for coming by-- my name is Erika Hyde.  I am so happy that you have made your way through blog-land to my little corner of the world.  I hope you'll grab a cup of coffee and stay awhile!

I am a full time working wife and mother with more hobbies and interests than I can count--if it's creative or craft related, I probably do it, have done it, or am trying to learn it! I am in the process of re-vamping this old blog and plan to incorporate more of my many interests into what I share here.

This is my adorable family- there are 7 of us.  7 is my lucky number- always has been; I was born on the 7th of July so the number 7 has been my lucky number as long as I can remember.  When I decided the re-design my blog, I renamed it to Lucky 7. Seemed to be more "me" than it was before and allows me to incorporate a wider variety of projects.

I work  in the medical field and really love my job, though it doesn't give me many opportunities to flex my creative muscles so to speak. I dabble in many areas of artistic expression including stamping, sewing, painting, scrapbooking (both paper and digital), graphic design, photography, drawing, writing, and woodworking... Obviously I'm not lacking in the way of hobbies. I am certainly not afraid to try something new!

My husband and our children are the most important things in the world to me. They are without a doubt the wind in my sails. I am constantly inspired by them in countless ways and am completely and unbelievably blessed to have such a fantastic family behind me to cheer me on in all of my many endeavors. I love to read, cook, listen to music, spend time with family and friends, attend cookouts, bake, play sports, shop, watch movies (and quote them), and I have a weird fascination with typing games. Nerd. I love sweater-weather, which is hard to come by for 90% of the year in South Carolina, snuggling, and being near the water. I am sensitive and emotional pretty much all of the time. If you read horoscopes, I'm a Cancer and it suits me to a T. I'm not the neatest person in the world as pretty much anyone that has ever lived with me can attest to, but it's not because I don't like things to be neat...I'm just really bad at it. I always know where everything is though...until my well-meaning husband comes along and cleans up after me and messes up my system.

I dislike ham, raw tomatoes, most kinds of seafood, and kit kat bars or any kind of chocolate that has the crispy stuff in it.  If I could adopt every animal (ok, just cats and dogs- no reptiles or creepy crawlies for me) in a cage, I would.  I can't stand being stuck behind drivers who go below the speed limit, am not a big fan of mean people or whining, and love love love when unexpected things come up and just make my day.

I love ruffles, chevron, babies, the color turquoise, and the smell outside after it rains.  I drink an excessive amount of creamer in my coffee, love color, and label makers (which is weird because I'm not neat...).  I am drawn to things that are comfortable but classic, I have a feeling I'd be really into antiquing but I've never really gone because with all my million other hobbies, I just don't have much time to check it out nor the slightest idea of where to start around here.

So that's sort of me in a nutshell.  If you have any questions for me, I'd love to hear from you!  Feel free to contact me!  Thanks for reading.
